The Vetropack Group, listed as a leading glass bottle provider, is an independent and family-managed glass packaging manufacturer in Switzerland with approximately 4,000 employees. In 2015, the Group acquired the Trezzano sul Naviglio (MI) glassworks as a strategic pillar of a Group expansion: hence, Vetropack Italy.
Invest in Lombardy, like Regione Lombardia, has supported and accompanied Vetropack in the definition of the process for the investment project in Lombardy.

In recent years, Vetropack has pursued an expansion project in Lombardy; with an investment in a brownfield site, the company built a new glass factory in Boffalora sopra Ticino (Mi). As stated by the company, Lombardy indeed is the industrial centre of Italy, providing the necessary infrastructure for such industries to prosper.
The Invest in Lombardy team supported Vetropack in the settlement process of their new factory. The Group believes that Lombardy can continue to accompany Vetropack in the authorization process for future development plans of their production site.
Next step: from 2023, the new industrial plant in Boffalora Sopra Ticino (MI) will replace the one in Trezzano sul Naviglio (Mi) to consolidate company's market presence.
