ITS as a solution to the search for hard-to-find technical professional profiles
“In Lombardy there are 65 academic institutions, the same size as Portugal, as well as 15 universities, 26 Afam, from the Brera Academy to the Conservatory and 24 Its Academy […]". Thus writes Il Corriere della Sera recounting the findings of the first report on the tertiary education system in Milan and Lombardy, produced by researchers from the Mheo Observatory (Milan Higher Education Observatory).
A region that excels in terms of education, both university and with high-tech post-diploma schools of excellence: Lombardy is the first region in Italy for the number of Its, it currently has some 30 academies and institutes, 25 foundations, 250 active courses and almost 6,000 students.
A reality that is underestimated at a training level but that, on the contrary, makes up for the needs of the business system, which often draws precisely from this pool for the hiring they need: on average, there are 300,000 profiles required by companies, which often go unanswered (source Excelsior).
Those who study in Its Academies find jobs more easily. In fact, their training courses have a high job placement rate, which average is 86% but reaches peaks of excellence of 94-96% in some sectors in our territory, such as mechatronics and ICT.
Given the skills emergency that businesses complain about, especially also in view of the challenges to which they are called to respond, why not consider the courses of higher technical education of the Lombardy Region they give the opportunity to many young people to grow professionally in specific areas and sought-after fields, as well as to give them a way to find work immediately?
