Lombardy and Green Chemistry: a step towards a sustainable future

This initiative aims to promote innovation in the green chemistry sector by involving companies, startups, and university spin-offs.

The initiative consists of three main phases:

1. an expression of interest from companies

2. a "Call for Ideas" for startups and spin-offs

3. a "Matching Day" with a 25,000-euro prize. The goal is to foster public-private partnerships, attract investment, and develop sustainable technologies.

The Lombardy chemical sector is a European leader, employing over 45,000 people and generating 27 billion euros in revenue in 2022. The region accounts for 42% of national chemical exports, showcasing a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Lombardy continues to invest in research and development to maintain its leading position in the chemical sector. The "Green Chemistry" program is a significant step towards a more sustainable economy, highlighting the importance of public-private synergy in addressing future challenges.
